LAST GIG OF THE SUMMER!

Image
Yes, you read that right. Our final gig this summer will be 31st July at Berkeley Tavern, Whitley Bay as part of the Under The Dome festival.  We'll be playing alongside some stupendously talented folks. So for a paltry five quid you'll get: dreamy yet dark alternative pop from Joe Allan, Gameboy-fuelled lo-fi surf punk from Euan Lynn, and female-fronted synth rock goodness from Fractions. And us. After this we'll be locking ourselves away to record a new single, which we'll release in the autumn, and then continue work on our next EP. Anyway, here's the deets : VENUE: Berkeley Tavern, Whitley Bay DATE: 31st July 2015 DOORS: 7.30pm TICKETS:   https://www.eventbrite.com/event/17559800837?ref=ebtn (also available on the door) RUNNING ORDER: 7.45: Joe Allan 8.30: Euan Lynn 9.15: What We Call Progress 10.00: Fractions MORE INFO:  https://under-the-dome.org/20150731t19300001

HOT PRESS TIPS!

Eugenie Johnson, web editor for NARC. Magazine, has recommended that you come and see us at Evo Emerging 2015 : "Also, I’d love to recommend some of the more electronic musicians on the bill; ako, Symmatik and What We Call Progress in particular are all well worth checking out if you’re looking for something a bit different to the indie scene!" As a reminder, we're playing at Ernest on 23rd May. Tickets are £5 + booking fee in advance . You can see the line-up in the handy clash-checker:

"With a clutch of impressive and well-crafted songs under their belt... it wouldn’t be surprising if the pair were one of the bands to break through at this year’s Evo Emerging festival."

Thanks to Eugenie Johnson for reviewing our Head of Steam gig on the 18th April. You can read the words that she wrote about it here: http://narcmagazine.com/live-review-what-we-call-progress-emiles-telegraphic-transmission-device-therunningchelsea-worry-party-head-of-steam-newcastle-18-04-15/ The beats are simple but not boring, the synths brooding and melancholic and John’s electric guitar adds another, almost indie dimension that separates them slightly from the masses. With a clutch of impressive and well-crafted songs under their belt, including recent single Pack of Cards, it wouldn’t be surprising if the pair were one of the bands to break through at this year’s Evo Emerging festival.

"A sepulchral slice of glitch-pop... It's excellent" - The Crack

Those lovely people at North East art-culture-film-music magazine, The Crack , have reviewed our new single, Pack of Cards, in the latest issue (April 2015). Using the magic of the internet I have taken two pictures of the review and joined them together into one convenient whole: Don't forget you can download it from our Bandcamp .
